Worked with KT for many years in SD during his time as an area scout to scouting director to GM. Great times and wonderful memories. Was so lucky to have KT and Brad Sloan as great friends and terrific mentors. Luved all my Pads years.
OK, first of all, you are so cool for having Bochy's phone number and getting him to send that text for this piece.
Secondly, you can tell KT stories till the cows come home. Love hearing them.
As for Stammen, I wore red stirrups to Game 5 of the 2012 NLDS between St Louis and my Nats, for whom of course Stammen was a stellar reliever (who wore his red stirrup socks old-school style.) l loved that guy. What a competitor. He and Sean Burnett nailed down the 6th in that game, taking over for a tired Gio Gonzalez and exiting with a 6-3 lead after 6. (And I will not mention what happened in the 9th of that game.)
I'm all in now on a SoCal World Series featuring the Padres and 2019 Nats WS champion Kurt Suzuki's Angels.
